For this reason Country Butcher offers a cheese of exceptionally smooth and creamy texture, dusted with toasted wheat flour adding to its distinctive flavor.
Fol Epi® is a cow's milk cheese produced in France. This creamy cheese is enclosed in a golden-brown rind made from a wheat base and has more in common with American-style Swiss cheese, but it's much better in flavor and texture. Compared to familiar mountain cheeses, the taste is sweeter and fruitier, and much less rustic and nutty. It is very protein-rich, making it a perfect choice for the health conscious cheese lover. Yes, it still has the traditional holes of a Swiss cheese, but not an overpowering, in-your-face cheesy which makes it quite delicious.
This French Emmental pairs wonderfully with a full bodied Chardonnay and goes well with Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir wines. Enjoy Fol Epi® as part of your appetizer cheese tray, serve as a salad with cherry tomatoes, or add slices on your sandwich. Melting Fol Epi® on a Raclette cheese melter will enhance its nutty taste.
